The manuscript created last quarter of the 12th century in Italy. Contains the text "De inventione" (ff. 3-53v) by Marcus Tullius Cicero and "Rhetorica ad Herennium" (ff. 53v-98) by Pseudo-Cicero.
Decorations: Large interlace or foliate initials in colours and gold (ff. 3, 5, 27, 29, 53v, etc.), some with zoomorphic features. Small initials in red stroked with yellow wash. From f. 54v onward many initials lie horizontally within the text area. Added coat of arms of the Maffei family (f. 3).
